Amanda P. Sam
President
Founder
Amanda lived through the Khmer Rouge regime, spending two of her childhood years in a labor camp. After the regime fell, her parents led their children on foot to Thailand, where they spent nearly two years in a Red Cross refugee camp before being sponsored to come to America. Through all of her experiences, Amanda nurtured a passionate desire to help improve life for those in her native Cambodia, and has now begun transforming that dream into reality. Named for the one hundred pound bags of rice that Amanda and her husband Thoeun distributed on their first relief mission to Cambodia in 2006, One Hundred Pounds of Hope is dedicated to helping Cambodians build a future for Cambodia |
